Contractor Briefing & Quote Comparison
Contractor quotes are difficult to compare when each company receives different information or interprets the project differently. A better briefing reduces scope ambiguity before price comparison begins.
What a useful briefing contains
- Property and room identification
- Drawings, dimensions and photographs where available
- Required outcomes and known constraints
- Clear inclusions, exclusions and interfaces
- Questions that must be answered in the quote
- Requested timing, assumptions and warranty information
Compare scope before price
A lower total may simply exclude demolition, disposal, preparation, specialist coordination or finishing. Normalize the scope before treating the numbers as comparable.
